Theme: "Tutors, Tutoring, and the Teaching of Tutors"
NCPTW 2012
The 2011 NCPTW conference invites writing center tutors and directors to come to Miami, FL, for a weekend of sun, fun, and tutor talk. This conference aims to focus squarely on the work tutors and directors do each day in their centers. We welcome presentations, interactive workshops, and posters that explore, question, and celebrate this work.

The theme, a play on Pat Hartwell’s 1985 College English essay “Grammar, Grammars, and the Teaching of Grammar,” encourages participants to examine different definitions of what it means to be a tutor, events that happen during a tutoring session, and how we educate tutors. In short, we invite discussions about tutors, tutoring, and the teaching of tutors.
